Children of Time

Children of Time follows a grand experiment gone wrong: Dr. Avrana Kern attempts to uplift monkeys on a terraformed planet with a nanovirus, but only spiders survive—and evolve rapidly into an intelligent civilization. Meanwhile, the last remnants of humanity travel aboard the starship Gilgamesh in search of a new home. When humans finally reach the planet, they find a species both alien and sophisticated. As their societies collide, only cooperation offers a path forward across time and worlds.
